Description:

Hundred residents of Muara Angke in Muara Baru and Marunda, both in North Jakarta, were trapped in their homes after a flash flood deluged roads and residences to a depth of 1 meter on Sunday, paralyzing the neighborhood. "It's been flooding since Thursday, but the water level only spiked today," said Suherman, a resident of Muara Baru. The worst of the flooding occurred in front of the Muara Baru fish auction, where the water was waist-deep. Fatimah, a resident of Marunda, said she had put her valuables and electronics in the attic for fear of the floodwater rising.
