I want you to read this very important article and understand the possibility that life could be changing for us all very soon. The data presented here is factual and based on published documents and well accepted facts. We will examine why Science is admitting with one hand yet denying with the other what could be the next Extinction Level Event facing all life on Earth. It is knocking on our door right now.
I want to start with Earth, Earth rotates around the Sun and takes 1 year to complete the orbit and the Sun orbits the Milky Way. The Milky Way is essentially a spinning flat disk, the Milky Way, or simply the Galaxy, is the galaxy in which our Solar System is located. It is a barred spiral galaxy that is part of the Local Group of galaxies. It is one of billions of galaxies in the observable universe.
Milky Way from three viewpoints
The Real View image is what the Galactic Core of the Milk Way looks like from Earth, the Mayans called it the Dark Rift. The Top Down View shows the Milky Way and where we are within it. The side view shows us the spinning disk from the edge. If you span a ball of dough in the air it would widen and stretch just like our favourite Pizza base. Image the Milky Way as a massive spinning Pizza base. The ingredients of our Galactic Pizza base are forces that known science knows anything about. All we know is there is a Black Hole at the center of the Galaxy and this is likely to be part of our thinly spread galactic pizza base.
Imagine as we, Earth, travel through space we occasionally go up and then come back down again in a wave like fashion, each time travelling through this galactic pizza base, like in the picture below.
You can see Earth travels along the curve passing through the Galactic Imaginary line in a cyclical fashion, imagine your looking at the Side View of the Milky Way as in the 1st picture above then draw the imaginary line along the center. Make sense?
What happens when we cross through this Galactic Plane?
Many of our readers will already know about the Mayan 2012 warning and the associated Galactic Alignment but this is not what this article is about. We want to take the Science Fact of what they admit and compare it to what they deny.
Just like the Earth orbits the Sun, the Sun itself is part of the Milky Way galaxy. It takes about 220 million years for the Sun to complete a single journey around the Milky Way. But the Sun also bobs up and down as it travels in orbit around the center of the galaxy. The oscillation takes a total of 64 million years to complete. And there’s a moment when the Sun passes directly through the galactic disk and there’s a perfect galactic alignment between the Sun and the center of the galaxy.
When’s that galactic alignment going to happen? It’s almost impossible to know exactly. The Milky Way is 100,000 light-years across, but only 1,000 light-years thick. So during the course of that 64 million year cycle, the Sun rises above the galactic plane 500 light-years, passes down through the galactic plane, until it’s 500 light-years below and then comes back up again. OK so the official statement admits we do pass through this Galactic Plane. You can also see that during the whole journey, the cycle, takes 64 million years give or take distorted figures (ClimateGate is a good example). This means that we travel through this Galactic Plane twice, once going up and once coming back down. Earth along with our Solar System travels through this spinning flattened disk of the Milky Way every 32 million years.
Most people think that the Mayans have a calendar which relates to the long count, the Long Count will reach 13.0.0.0.0 on 21 or 23 December AD 2012 – a not too distant future. However the purpose of this document is not to get distracted by this Mayan fact, we are looking at evidence of something that is not spoken about but has serious consequences.
Although they are not part of the Long Count, the Mayas had names for larger time spans. The following names are sometimes quoted, although they are not ancient Maya terms:
1 pictun = 20 baktun = 2,880,000 days = approx. 7885 years 1 calabtun = 20 pictun = 57,600,000 days = approx. 158,000 years 1 kinchiltun = 20 calabtun = 1,152,000,000 days = approx. 3 million years 1 alautun = 20 kinchiltun = 23,040,000,000 days = approx. 63 million years The alautun is probably the longest named period in any calendar.
OK I could not resist that, how interesting is that? 1 Alautun = 63 million years! Remember that I mentioned that Science figures usually have a plus and a minus variation and that we travel, according to Science fact, through a Galactic Plane twice in a period of 64 million years +/- something. I don’t think anyone can call the Mayan’s anything but mathematical geniuses and their knowledge of Space and Math are simply far beyond what we can do with computers and technology. So lets agree that the 1 million year discrepancy between Science and the Mayan Alautun numbers, now we have our 63 million figure to go on. The Mayans were fascinated by the Milky Way and they called it the Dark Rift. What we are talking about here is a cyclical event. Please do not confuse this with the Galactic Alignment theory where our Sun along with other other planets align with the center of the Galaxy, this happens during the Solstice times, we are talking about travelling through the Galactic Plane.
The Galaxy is made up of dust, rocks, ice and gas and it is to be expected that as an object passes closer to the Galactic Plane it will encounter first the edge of the spinning mass which initially contain dust and small debris and further onward the debris would become larger objects and rocks as are well known in the formation of asteroids and planets etc.
Ulysses sees Galactic Dust on the rise in 1990’s

Since early 1992 Ulysses has been monitoring the stream of stardust flowing through our Solar System. The stardust is embedded in the local galactic cloud through which the Sun is moving at a speed of 26 kilometres every second. As a result of this relative motion, a single dust grain takes twenty years to traverse the Solar System. Observations by the DUST experiment on board Ulysses have shown that the stream of stardust is highly affected by the Sun’s magnetic field.
In the 1990s, this field, which is drawn out deep into space by the out-flowing solar wind, kept most of the stardust out. The most recent data, collected up to the end of 2002, shows that this magnetic shield has lost its protective power during the recent solar maximum. In an upcoming publication in the Journal of Geophysical Research ESA scientist Markus Landgraf and his co-workers from the Max-Planck-Institute in Heidelberg report that about three times more stardust is now able to enter the Solar System.
The reason for the weakening of the Sun’s magnetic shield is the increased solar activity, which leads to a highly disordered field configuration. In the mid-1990s, during the last solar minimum, the Sun’s magnetic field resembled a dipole field with well-defined magnetic poles (North positive, South negative), very much like the Earth. Unlike Earth, however, the Sun reverses its magnetic polarity every 11 years. The reversal always occurs during solar maximum. That’s when the magnetic field is highly disordered, allowing more interstellar dust to enter the Solar System. It is interesting to note that in the reversed configuration after the recent solar maximum (North negative, South positive), the interstellar dust is even channelled more efficiently towards the inner Solar System. So we can expect even more interstellar dust from 2005 onwards, once the changes become fully effective. Source ESA
The Space Dust is clearly on the increase and more alarmingly so are Space Rocks. For 15 years, scientists have benefited from data gleaned by U.S. classified satellites of natural fireball events in Earth’s atmosphere – but no longer.
A recent U.S. military policy decision now explicitly states that observations by hush-hush government spacecraft of incoming bolides and fireballs are classified secret and are not to be released.
“It’s baffling to us why this would suddenly change,” said one scientist familiar with the work. “It’s unfortunate because there was this great synergy…a very good cooperative arrangement. Systems were put into dual-use mode where a lot of science was getting done that couldn’t be done any other way. It’s a regrettable change in policy.”
Scientists say not only will research into the threat from space be hampered, but public understanding of sometimes dramatic sky explosions will be diminished, perhaps leading to hype and fear of the unknown.

So clearly we have evidence that our solar system is under some sort of increasing debris attack. Worryingly the military intervention regarding incoming space rocks leaves us all feeling really really concerned.
Maybe that is not enough evidence to confirm the next ELE, Extinction Level Event so lets look at Earths Geological history as we are told. I want to now try to build up a timeline for you and you should see that the dating of these events match up pretty well with our journey through the Galactic Plane.
Remember 64 million years is the total journey time according to Science that it takes for our Solar system to travel twice through the Galactic Plane. If this is the case then you expect to see something very dramatic around 30+/- million years ago and also around 60 +/- million years ago.
Welcome to the Eocene Period 33 million +/- years ago.
The Eocene epoch, lasting from 55.8 ± 0.2 to 33.9 ± 0.1 Ma (million years ago), is a major division of the geologic timescale and the second epoch of the Palaeogene period in the Cenozoic era. The Eocene spans the time from the end of the Paleocene epoch to the beginning of the Oligocene epoch. The start of the Eocene is marked by the emergence of the first modern mammals. The end is set at a major extinction event called Grande Coupure (the “Great Break” in continuity), which may be related to the impact of one or more large bolides in Siberia and in what is now Chesapeake Bay. As with other geologic periods, the strata that define the start and end of the epoch are well identified. Source Wiki
32 million years ago fits perfectly within this timeframe. There was a MAJOR extinction event.
Now lets look at around ~60 million years ago.
Welcome to the Paleocene Period 65 million +/- years ago.
The Paleocene or Palaeocene, the “early recent”, is a geologic epoch that lasted from 65.5 ± 0.3 Ma to 55.8 ± 0.2 Ma (million years ago). It is the first epoch of the Palaeogene Period in the modern Cenozoic era. As with most other older geologic periods, the strata that define the epoch’s beginning and end are well identified but the exact date of the end is uncertain.
The Paleocene epoch immediately followed the mass extinction event at the end of the Cretaceous, known as the K-T boundary (Cretaceous – Tertiary), which marks the demise of the dinosaurs (except their descendants, modern birds) and much other fauna and flora. The die-off of the dinosaurs left unfilled ecological niches worldwide. Source Wiki
There is also another event around 90 million years ago but precise details are not very accessible. So we can clearly see that once every 30 or so million years there is some drastic event that effects 90% of all Earths inhabitants. We can clearly see that there was an event ~30 million years ago!
We are due our turn unfortunately and it could be sooner than we think. The Sun is at it’s quietest for nearly a century as the space dust interferes with its routine. The build up of rocks and collisions in our Solar System, as above, is a clear indication we are heading towards the same fate as Earths previous inhabitants, a Mass Extinction!
The sun’s movement through the Milky Way regularly sends comets hurtling into the inner solar system – coinciding with mass life extinctions on earth, a new study claims.
Scientists at the Cardiff Centre for Astrobiology built a computer model of our solar system’s movement and found that it “bounces” up and down through the plane of the galaxy.
As we pass through the densest part of the plane, gravitational forces from the surrounding giant gas and dust clouds dislodge comets from their paths. The comets plunge into the solar system, some of them colliding with the earth.
The Cardiff team found that we pass through the galactic plane every 35 to 40 million years, increasing the chances of a comet collision tenfold. Evidence from craters on Earth also suggests we suffer more collisions approximately 36 million years. Professor William Napier, of the Cardiff Centre for Astrobiology, said: “It’s a beautiful match between what we see on the ground and what is expected from the galactic record.” Source PSYORG
The periods of comet bombardment also coincide with mass extinctions, such as that of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
Comet or Asteroid Shower in the Late Eocene?
The passage of a comet shower ~35 million years ago is generally advocated to explain the coincidence during Earth’s late Eocene of an unusually high flux of interplanetary dust particles and the formation of the two largest craters in the Cenozoic, Popigai and the Chesapeake Bay. However, new platinum-group element analyses indicate that Popigai was formed by the impact of an L-chondrite meteorite. Such an asteroidal projectile is difficult to reconcile with a cometary origin. Perhaps instead the higher delivery rate of extraterrestrial matter, dust, and large objects was caused by a major collision in the asteroid belt. Source ScienceMag
Our present position in the galaxy suggests we are now very close to another such period.
Of course 2012 is a date that has many significant events attached to it and it is not just the Mayan’s that have it as a special date, a date when the new world is born, the HOPI Indians along with at least 30 or more cultures all have the same date set in their history.
There are many religions out there convinced we are about to enter some very bad times and this is where I leave this.
The date 21 12 2012 = BA ABBA which in Hebrew means “The Father is returning/coming”. Interesting.
The effects of this dusty plain could be the cause of changes on Earth as well as other bodies in our Solar system. We are also experiencing far more Earthquakes and Tidal events that cannot be attributed to any AGW Climate claims.
It would seem the Mayan calendar holds a far greater figure than just the basic Long count and further calculations take this figure to approx 64 million. The Aluatan.
The Mayans had the ability to understand that the Earth wobbles on it’s axis and they accommodated this in their calculations, a 26000 year calculation! If that does not define immense mathematical knowledge then I don’t know what else I can offer to convince you. They had a precision and a grasp of something we clearly have been led away from or simply just forgot over time, just what is it about the 2012 date.
Of course I would expect any sane person to ask the question on how could the Mayans or for that matter any civilisation know of something covering at least 64 million years and is a cyclical event. For them to know it is a cyclical event would mean that it had been experienced before and that would take us to 128 million years ago!
Everything we have been taught regarding the age of Homo Sapiens and when we became intelligent to the point of being able to read the stars and mathematically calculate the wobble of a planet that not so many hundreds of years ago everyone thought was flat would be wrong wouldn’t it? Is something being hidden from us behind the mask of Darwins “Theory”. That is for another story.
Everything is a cycle to the ancient cultures from birth to death, everything follows the pattern and this includes Mother Earth as they would call it. Life, create and death.
So as we close in on 2012 we should realise that we are about to head into what could be the last years of Humanity as we know it. We wont let a few million years +- of guessing dates of passage through space rule this out.
You can be sure that the Governments know about this and that you can guarantee that they will not come out and announce anything publically until the last minute meanwhile they will continue to build underground bunkers and other such defenses to save themselves.

LOL. First, I must note that we do know a lot more about “Space and Time” than Mayans ever did. That is incontrovertible. Secondly, note that the plane of the Galaxy is not that well-defined: it is not a line from the Galactic center out but rather a disk, of a non-negligible thickness. There is nothing magical about the actual plane: it is a geometrical construct that has no physical relity and is based on the distribution of mass in the galactic disk. So it is not difficult, but rather impossible to predict when our Solar System will cross this imaginary plane. We can say, at best, that the crossing will happen over a period of several thousand years, which is exactly what is going on. BTW, the density of dust half a parsec from the “plane” is, on the average, the same as it is on it, and it would take our Solar System several thousand years to travel that far. Basically, we have been crossing it since, um, a long time ago, and wil continue doing so for some time yet.
Meanwhile, loca, changes in the density of intersetllar dust and gas are far more important than anything we would encounter “crossing the plane”. Look up the studies of local interstellar medium to get an idea of the cosmic “geography” in our neighbourhood.
In short, nothing is going to happen in 2012 that wouldn’t happen tomorrow or didn’t happen yesterday: it is just another year, and another chance for humanity to wipe itself out, or not.
(My sources are quite simple: I am an astrophysicist with some interst in LISM and general galactic “geography”.
Jorg I want to know from an educated person like you how do you know that we know more than what the Mayans ever did. Did you asked some of them?
It all sounds plausible, but if the level of reasoning that is evidenced in the paragraph beginning “Of course I would expect any sane person to ask the question” and what follows, then sounds is as far as it goes. We know about the precession of the earth’s axis, a cycle that takes 26000 or so years to complete, but we didn’t have to be around for 26000 years, observing goings on, to figure that out. In the same way, the knowledge of a cycle taking 64 million years does not require there to have been people around 128 million, or 64 million, or whatever, years ago to observe it as it happened.
Also, as pointed out by Jorg, it could simply sound plausible because a lot of information has been left out. Apart from anything else, anytime someone pops up some “interesting” fact and shouts, “This can’t possibly be coincidence!” it usually is and they’ve simply not bothered to consider how such a coincidence could come about. Throw in rants about government conspiracies and all credibility is just tossed out the window. They’re government satellites for the gathering of classified data. Perhaps all the government is trying to do is (gasp) make sure that the data that they want to keep classified stays that way. Is it possible that they’re trying to prevent mass hysteria by hiding an impending doom? Sure (and more power to them since mass hysteria would achieve exactly nothing, except that people would die hysterical). So what? What you’re trying to imply (an approach loved by conspiracy theorists, which doesn’t help your cause either) is that because it’s possible it must be the truth.

OK. It all sounds plausible. I see the oscillation of the solar system through the galactic ‘disc’ and it makes me wonder about physics. If we relate the movement of an object through an acceleration and deceleration curve, there is a point at the middle which reaches 0. If the solar system does react to the push/pull of this movement, specific gravitational forces within may indeed affect dust, rocks, comets etc… as those large gravity forces would have not much more affect, but certainly enough to change the plan of movement related to the system.
Cyclical events in Earths’ past history, measured by millions of years, and by the scientists giving us the data based on scientific method with the tools they have, are, to say the least a good effort at trying to understand what’s going on. How the Mayans and Hopi got there is yet beyond us. And to think that they had some facts other than what we have is simply absurd. Where are they today? Selling tourists handmade gifts on the side of the road, and proud of it, I might say. It didn’t seem to matter to them that the end was eventually coming. And if it is, if all this speculation and scientific data comes true, what are you going to do? Nothing. That’s right! Nothing. Because we don’t have a chance in Hades to protect ourselves from something like this. We do have something though. We have a chance to make it the best damn world we can possibly make. And if it all goes in the pot, we can at least look to the day and say we tried.

It really is a good article. But, considering how the universe works and how long time really is in comparison to the human time scale… If we’re just beginning to see signs and what not, then it would stand to reason that it could even be another hundred years before we actually get there. *shrug* I guess it’s a matter of “everything happens for a reason.” So many people to try to prove stuff, yet no one actually doing anything to help save people. The accuracy of the Mayan calendar has less to do with mankind’s intellect of those days than a higher power. Anyone who knows the Bible realizes that the Angels, both the good and fallen ones, had knowledge beyond today’s science. These beings were to assist mankind, but as you all know, Satan didn’t take kindly to being a servant to mankind and has been corrupting us ever since.
I suspect the Mayan calendar is a warning to Mankind to prepare for what is coming. I also think that the 2012 date will mark the end of civilization as we know it; if not from earthquakes and asteroids, then by our own hand through civil unrest caused by the coming Depression, man-made diseases, or from WW3 … my guess is it will be a combination of all the above
Even if the 2012 Mayan event is disregarded, a fool can see that our world, especially the USA, is going to fall in the very near future. I believe we have less than three years before things get really bad. Something in par with mass starvation, poverty, disease, and civil unrest as seen in countries of Africa.
We have only our selves to blame though. We became corrupt and allowed corrupt leaders in our government and courts. We have cast out the “Law” of the 10 Commandments and our Christian beliefs; even God himself. Our fate will be that of Sodom and Gamora.

Check out G1.9 – Brown Dwarf Star, its already in our Solar System and heading this way. Its left the Ort cloud and is now in the Kuiper belt near Pluto, its hard to see because it lines up with about 27 degrees of Sagittarius which is in a direct line towards the centre of our Galaxy. The corresponding date on earth when the Sun will be at 27 degrees of Sagitarius is about the 20th-21st December every year?

Definately an attention grabber, I have a fair grasp on scientific knowledge and I also know that there is the chamce that the date could be offby a few (million) years. but you cannot deny the possibility. the other possibility is that we could get lucky and avoid everything =)

With regard to one point, the Mayan knowledge of the 64 million year cycle and the idea that they (or humanity) would have had to have been around for 128 million years to have noticed it. This is not the least bit necessary. As a result of our own astronomical observations mostly during the last century we have become aware of this 64 million year cycle. We did not “observe” it and keep records for 128 million years. It is an extrapolation from current measurements: a prediction based on now current beliefs concerning celestial dynamics. I will assume for the moment that this prediction is reasonably accurate. From this point how could the Mayans and other cultures without the benefit of our advanced telescopes and other instruments have figured it out? They couldn’t. But they could be in possesion of information handed down from a previous civilization that had the ability to make the prediction just as we do. This in fact is the crux of all the 2012 diaster scenarios. The belief among many cultures that we are the survivors of past catastrophes. The past civilizations left warnings about future disasters of an astronomical nature, these were to occur about in our year 2012. If for the sake of argument they were predicted to occur in 2312 and we had at this time sufficient astronomical knowledge to properly interpret the warnings and know they were true we would be in good shape. 300 years to prepare while technology increases over that span could put us in a postion to save everthing. However in our current state of political and scientific development with only two years to go if the warnings turn out to be true predictions from a distant past we are toast. We won’t even be in a position to leave warnings of an accurate nature to help the decendents of our survivors the next time around.

in a day the earth has about 2600 small qwakes so week we dont feel it. and 1 or 2 major around the would in a year. but it seems like we have had 5 in the last 12 months or so. If we keep getting more and the weather keeps going nuts like it has ben i think we have some Major problems!! I think somthing may happen but not like in that 2012 movie.
