Description:

Eleven children and a bus driver suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon in a school bus accident on the westbound side of Highway 40, at l'Acadie Circle. The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. when the school bus collided with a car. The bus was then rear ended by a truck. There was no significant damage to any of the vehicles. It's not yet clear what led to the accident. Although their injuries were minor, all 12 accident victims were taken to hospital as a precaution, according to Benoit Garneau of Urgences Sante. "We're talking about whiplash symptoms - so back pain and neck pain and that's about it," Garneau said. The accident caused major traffic headaches, since the right-hand lane of the highway was temporarily closed.
