In May this year researchers were concerned that the Sun’s lack of activity could trigger a Mini Ice Age. The current Arctic conditions sweeping the Northern Hemisphere, along with record cold temperatures being recorded in many countries, could validate the findings. Prolonged lull in solar activity has astrophysicists glued to their telescopes waiting to see what the sun will do next—and how Earth’s climate might respond. The sun is the least active it’s been in decades and the dimmest in a hundred years. The lull is causing some scientists to recall the Little Ice Age, an unusual cold spell in Europe and North America, which lasted from about 1300 to 1850.
The coldest period of the Little Ice Age, between 1645 and 1715, has been linked to a deep dip in solar storms known as the Maunder Minimum.
During that time, access to Greenland was largely cut off by ice, and canals in Holland routinely froze solid. Glaciers in the Alps engulfed whole villages, and sea ice increased so much that no open water flowed around Iceland in the year 1695.

The current cold weather in the UK is because of NE winds moving across the whole country bringing cold air from Sweden and further north. This huge weather system is stopping a warm front from moving in from the SW along with the Gulf Stream. There is no “little ice age” its all simply by chance that we have this cold air from the NE, nothing more, nothing less. Talk about trying to make a crisis out of nothing!

You are forgetting that very recently, the Governments of the World have been meeting to discuss global warming, yet a short cold snap and it’s “the next ice age” for heavens sake. Areas of the World are experiencing real seasons that means hot summers, cold winters.

Just because it’s a little cold in a town or two here and there doesn’t mean anything. Everyone knows 2009 is the hottest year ever. And 2010 is going to be the hottest after that. When are you deniers going to wake up before the earth dies?
You wait!! 2010 will be the big year for hurricanes, solar eclipses, floods, earthquakes, comets, and all other things caused by man’s toxic attack against life.
The sun is starting to become more active now so I think we don´t have to worry to much.
Gunter: I don´t see why we should worry about solar eclipses, and comets doesn´t care about if we destroy our enviroment or not.
I must say that I agree with Dave.
Maybe there is an unusual trend in this “arctic” wind coming from the north. Andl maybe this is just a “fluke of nature” But; i I have lived in this part of the country for 70 yrs and i have never seen a winter like this one. The “myaners” and the “xfilers” and doomsday prophets might be onto something
There is SO much that is interconnected that is not being revealed to people. I give lectures on global peace, and I have had some experience within the media, including a national TV network in Canada.
Let’s get something straight about ‘global warming’. Global warming causes other parts of the planet to get cold….very cold. For those of you who do not know why, let me share:
Global temperatures rise, (you pick whatever reason rings your bell for this)
Ice melts. Normally ice reflects the Sun’s rays back up into the atmosphere. The lack of ice means more water, and the water is darker than ice, which means the water will absorb more heat than it will reflect. The faster the ice melts, the more heat that can be absorbed by the oceans, meaning the melting effect becomes faster and faster.
How does this affect temperature? The North Atlantic Conveyor is a movement of water from south to north. Scandinavia and northern Europe have their normally milder winters because of this. The warm water is on the surface and as it releases its heat, it begins to sick, and then flows back to the south to get warmed up again.
The ocean is saltwater. The icebergs are freshwater. As the icebergs melt, more and more freshwater mixes with the saltwater of the conveyor. This causes a dilution in the salt, and thus the conveyor begins to slow down. This slowing down means that less heat is able to move to northern Europe.
Those who scoff at ‘global warming’ saying that they are freezing, are not fully understanding the nature of what is taking place.
Numerous governments are packaging various messages as ‘fear’, getting people to stay in states of fear and separation. This truth is gradually being exposed now. Various prophecies indicate that our Solar System goes through a nature cycle, which includes passing through the Galactic Plain of our galaxy. From the messages of the ancients, it appears that when our Solar System moves through the Galactic Plain, there are periods of intense changes on the Earth, and these changes are what allow the Earth to balance, rest and regenerate. The Earth goes through a cycle of LIFE also, like all aspects of LIFE.
There are changes taking place at this time that governments will try to create fear, in order to maintain control of their people. This will not continue. They are trying to keep people locked into a dying economic system. This will not continue. More and more humans are now awakening to what is happening, and are gaining a deeper understanding for truth, and a deeper understanding that we are a part of something much larger and far greater than we were ever allowed to know before. There is evidence abound that there are people and organizations within most governments around the world that know FAR FAR FAR more about what is going on than they are telling their citizens and the world. It is up to individuals to find the time to do their own research, and find the information that is most meaningful to them. Do not blindly trust anyone, including what I am writing now. My truth is not your truth. Empower yourself, and find what you need to know, in order to honour Self, others, our planet and all of LIFE at this very important time! It is a shift of planetary and human consciousness, and it is your choice if you come along for the ride! There is no room for fear and separation! We are moving into a space of ONENESS.
